We organized a coalition from 14 Jewish organizations and established an Expert Group from their representatives. The experts monitored, revised elementary and secondary schoolbooks, and proposed changes to ensure that students learn about the Jewish religion, culture, community, and Israel based on factual narratives. The initiative was the beginning of a long, multi-year process embraced by our organization, which created both the smooth operation of the organizational background and the availability of the financial quality management conditions necessary for its implementation. In the process, we commented on the National Core Curriculum text and the textbooks prepared for 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th-grade students from history, literature, grammar, social and economic knowledge, as well as ethics.
The project was completed in 2016-2017 with the support of the Hungarian institute for educational research and development.
